Description

Today we spoke with Dr Nick Holton - Human flourishing thought leader, and Peak Performance Coach at Flow Research Collective

Co-director of human flourishing at The Shipley School, consultant, educator and international keynote speaker, Nicks' work is devoted to the study, dissemination and application of the science of human flourishing - feeling, behaving and functioning as our best selves and at our highest potentials. Nick coaches educators, elite athletes and executives - and his work with FRC is informed by principles of learning theory, humanistic psychology, motivational theory and interviewing, positive psychology coaching, cognitive behavioral skills, and context-specific application.

Today we unpacked the PERMA model from positive psychology, and what is the essence of human flourishing, plus how to identify if someone is flourishing. Nick shared why he loves working with younger people...impacting them, and the meaning of eudaimonia. Nick operates from the perspective offered by the famous quote from humanistic psychologist Abraham Maslow, that “the story of human beings is the story of people selling themselves short”. Understand more about this today; also, please check out his podcast Flourish FM and The Antifragile Athlete
